great is inspired by your experiences

There may be very few truly original or unique new ideas in the world. There are many more possibilities if you look at the world with your worldview, perspective and experience.

The people who stick with it know that there is a place where truly great ideas, writing, design, products, services, platforms and innovations are born, if only we would allow ourselves to tap into them sooner and more often. Everything truly great is inspired by our own stories and experiences—our unique worldviews.

do you like to crunch?

But crunch is not always the result of irresponsible managers who will knowingly demand unreasonable hours.  Just as often, I speculate, it’s the result of our own willingness to crunch, coupled with an inability or unwillingness to plan ahead realistically or at all.

avoid group think technique

  • Note down ideas, together in silence (5 mins)
  • Self Edit (2 mins)
  • Share and capture on the board (5 mins)
  • Vote, individually and quietly (2-5 mins)
  • Share and capture, short precise not sales pitches, mark board (2-5 mins)
  • Decide, owner/leader chooses not group. Votes = input in to discussion
  • Rejoice…

Why does it work?

  • Quiet time to think
  • Parallel is better than serial
  • Voting commitment
